Free online games that run in your browser

TabSpawn is a small catalogue of free browser games with no download, no install and no sign-up. Every title is an HTML5 or WebGL game that opens from a link and starts in seconds, on a Windows or Mac laptop, a Chromebook, an Android phone or an iPhone. If you are looking for something quick to play when you are bored, or a 2 player game to share with a friend over a link, start with the instant games above.

The retro lab is for people who own the games already. Two online emulators run classic consoles inside the tab with WebAssembly, from the NES and SNES to the PlayStation 1, and two RetroDeck Live rooms stream a real PS1 or PS2 from a server to two browsers at once, which is cloud gaming without a subscription. None of them include game files; you bring your own lawful copies, and nothing is uploaded by the in-browser tools.

Everything is built and hosted by one studio, Zooshan, so there are no ad networks, no trackers and no accounts on this site. New original games are added as they are finished, and each one gets a page with controls, tips and a play link.

Questions

Are the games on TabSpawn really free?

Yes. Every game listed here is free to play online in the browser with no account, no download and no payment. The retro emulators are free too, but they contain no games; you supply your own lawful copies.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The games are HTML5 and WebGL titles that run in a normal browser tab on desktop and, for most of them, on phones and tablets. A recent version of Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari is enough.

Do these games work on a Chromebook?

Yes. Because they run in the browser, Jugnu II and Dusk Duel play on any Chromebook without the Play Store. The emulators also run on Chromebooks, though 3D consoles like the N64 want a faster model. See the guide to games for Chromebook for controls and tips.

Why do the games open on other domains?

TabSpawn is the front door; each game is hosted on its own site so it can ship updates and servers independently. All of them are built and run by the same studio, Zooshan.

Where are my scores and saves stored?

In your browser. Jugnu II keeps your firefly name locally and sends only your best score to the shared Top 10. The emulators keep save states and memory cards in browser storage on the device you used, so clearing site data clears them.

What is the difference between the instant games and the lab?

Instant games open and play immediately. The lab holds emulators and cloud-streamed consoles: they need your own game files, and the streamed rooms need a hosting key because a real console runs on a server for each room.

Can I play with a friend?

Dusk Duel is a 2 player fighting game: create a private room and share the link. RetroDeck Live and its PS2 edition give a second player the other controller from an invitation link, with spectators welcome to watch.
